What is an Singapore Employment Pass (EP)?

The Singapore Employment Pass (EP) is a type of work visa issued to foreign professional employees, managers and owners/directors of Singapore companies. There is no quota system limiting the number of Employment Passes that can be issued to a company. Singapore Employment Pass and Employment Visa can be used interchangeably in most cases. The EP is normally issued for 1-2 years at a time and is renewable thereafter.

How to apply for Singapore Employment Pass (EP)

Submit an application

  • Check your application status after 3 weeks.
Get the pass issued

  • Provide the required information and documents.
  • Once the pass is issued, you will receive the notification letter by email.
Register fingerprint and photo (if required)

Within 2 weeks after pass is issued, check the notification letter for whether you need to register fingerprints and photo.

Deliver the card to your address 1 month after document verification

Singapore Employment Pass requirements
  • Personal Identification (6 Months Validity).
  • Personal Resume CV in English.
  • A tertiary degree from a reputable university and relevant professional experience. In some cases, your strong professional-employment history and good salary may compensate for lack of good education.
  • Minimum salary requirement: 3,600 SGD for fresh graduates from good-quality educational institutions. Experienced applicants will need to command higher salaries.
  • No official quota system. Each application is reviewed by authorities based on the credentials of the employing company and the applicant.
